This PRN anesthesiology opening is based at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, a 525-bed tertiary teaching facility that also serves as the main teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School. The campus houses a regional air ambulance service, a heart hospital, and a range of specialty programs spanning cardiovascular, neurosciences, neurosurgery, urology, oncology, spine, behavioral health, and women's services, including a neonatal intensive care unit. The hospital holds Comprehensive Stroke Center accreditation and Magnet recognition for nursing.

Shifts run 8, 10, or 12 hours, and scheduling is arranged by mutual agreement. The provider's malpractice coverage, including tail coverage, is supplied by the employer.

The posted base pay for full-time work is between $364,000.00 and $405,600.00 per year, based on a full-time schedule of 2,080 hours annually. Additional pay such as shift differentials, standby or on-call pay, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonuses may apply, and the final figure within the range depends on qualifications, experience, location, and business needs.
