How rate estimates work

Every rate on ClearPay CRNA carries one of three labels. Posted means the rate comes from a job posting. Agency-stated means the agency or employer entered the rate for this job themselves. Estimate means no one has published a rate for this job, so we worked one out.

An estimate starts from what has actually been posted: first the rates the same agency or employer has posted for the same kind of job, then the rates nearby employers have posted. Only when there is nothing local do we use state and national pay data.

Every estimate shows one figure and the word Estimate. Point at or tap Estimate for the range behind the figure and what it rests on. The range says how sure we are: it is narrowest when the estimate rests on the agency's or employer's own rates, and widest when it rests on wider pay data.

A 1099 rate is shown by the hour, and W-2 pay by the year (by the hour for PRN and part-time jobs). 1099 and W-2 jobs are not ranked together.

An estimate is not sent to Google as a job's pay, and estimates do not rank above posted rates in the default order: jobs with a posted or agency-stated rate come first. Search results are ranked by the same rules for every listing; paid placement, where it appears, is labeled.
