Full details

The Chamberlain Medical Center role is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, who will work a 7-days-on, 7-days-off rotation that alternates with the other full-time CRNA. The position is non-union and its shift is listed as varies.

The CRNA administers anesthesia or sedation for a range of surgical and non-surgical procedures. Responsibilities include developing and carrying out a pre-anesthetic plan for each patient, writing orders before, during, and after procedures, and evaluating and ordering diagnostic tests as needed. The nurse anesthetist also monitors patients, including hemodynamic monitoring, and adjusts care to match the anesthesia plan.

Collaboration is a central part of the role, with the CRNA working alongside providers caring for each patient and communicating with patients, their families, and other members of the health care team. The position also calls for the ability to address the growth and development needs of all client populations.

Candidates need a Bachelor of Science degree from an approved, accredited advanced practice program, and a Master's, Doctor of Nursing Practice, or Doctorate of Philosophy is preferred. An unencumbered license to practice as a CRNA from the state board of nursing is required, with multi-state licensure privileges where the position calls for them. CRNA certification from the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists must be obtained and maintained, along with department-specific competencies. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is preferred.
