This locum tenens role for a CRNA is based at Peninsula Surgery Center in Virginia. The schedule is regular daytime hours in 8-hour shifts with no call. The center has three anesthesia rooms and uses the Epic charting system. Cases are mainly general surgery, pediatrics, healthy urology and GYN patients, generally ASA 1 or 2 with healthy pediatric patients. Credentialing takes about 90 days.

The CRNA would carry out pre-anesthesia assessments, obtain or confirm patient consent, and review anesthetic options and risks with patients. Responsibilities also include managing induction, maintenance and emergence from anesthesia, monitoring each patient's physiological status, and performing clinical interventions when needed.

Candidates need current AANA certification or recertification through the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists, board certification or eligibility, and graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program. They must hold a current registered professional nurse license; a Virginia license is required, though candidates who still need to obtain one will be considered.
