Full details

A hospital in southern Ohio is seeking three CRNAs to join its hospital-employed anesthesia group, which currently includes six physicians and nine CRNAs. The medical center has run a care team model since 2011 and serves a region of more than 120,000 people. It holds Magnet designation, the top recognition for nursing excellence from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

The base salary starts at $155,000 and is commensurate with experience. The position carries 29 paid time off days, made up of four weeks of vacation plus holidays and sick days, and five days plus up to $5,000 for continuing education, books and journals. The contract runs two years and includes a call pay program (CERP) that the CFO explains during recruitment. A moving allowance of $10,000 is paid directly to a moving company.

Retirement options include a 403(b) plan with employer matching of up to 2% of base pay, dollar for dollar, and a 457(b) deferred compensation plan without matching. The posting lists IRS deferral limits of $17,000 per year, with a higher catch-up amount of $24,000 for those over 50 in the 403(b) plan. The CRNA pays a small health insurance premium through payroll deduction. Malpractice coverage is claims-made, at $1,000,000 per claim and $3,000,000 in aggregate.

The contract includes a 70-mile and two-year non-compete clause with liquidated damages. The facility is a 200-plus bed regional medical center that recently finished a $100 million expansion, including a four-story tower with private medical-surgical rooms and 12 new surgical suites, among them two cardiothoracic and one vascular. The city lies along the Ohio River and serves southern Ohio and northern Kentucky, with orchestras, museums, theaters, water sports, golf and outdoor recreation, and it is within reach of Columbus and Cincinnati.
