Full details

A hospital in southern Ohio is seeking a CRNA to join its hospital-employed anesthesia group, which includes 6 physicians and 9 CRNAs and has operated under a care team model since 2011. The medical center serves a regional population of more than 120,000 and holds Magnet designation, the top nursing recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

The base salary is listed at $144,000 to $154,000, depending on experience. Paid time off totals 29 days, made up of four weeks of vacation plus holidays and sick days. The package also includes 5 days and up to $5,000 for CME, books and journals, and the position carries a 2-year contract. A 457(b) deferred compensation plan is available with no employer match, and a 403(b) retirement plan offers a dollar-for-dollar employer match on up to 2% of base pay, with contribution limits of $17,000 under age 50 and $24,000 for those over 50. The employer pays $10,000 toward moving costs through a moving company.

Malpractice coverage is a claims-made policy with limits of $1,000,000 per claim and $3,000,000 in aggregate. The CRNA pays a small health insurance premium through payroll deduction. The contract contains a 70-mile and 2-year non-compete clause with liquidated damages. Details of the call pay program, known as CERP, are reviewed by the chief financial officer.

The 200-plus bed regional center is in Ohio and was recently named to a Fortune list of top workplaces. A $100 million expansion added a new Heart & Vascular Center, a four-story tower with medical and surgical private rooms, and 12 new surgical suites, including two cardiothoracic and one vascular room. The city lies along the Ohio River and serves southern Ohio and northern Kentucky, with a family-oriented community, a local orchestra, museums, theaters, water sports, golf courses and outdoor recreation. It sits within reach of Columbus and Cincinnati.
