The role covers day shifts from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight call from 4 p.m. to 7 a.m. The case mix includes endoscopy, obstetrics, pediatrics, urology, ENT, general surgery, gynecology and orthopedics. The CRNA practices independently, with supervision required only for podiatry and dental cases, which must follow Indiana guidelines.
Candidates must be proficient in spinals, blocks and epidurals and provide case logs along with proof of these techniques. An active Indiana CRNA license and an Indiana RN license are required, as is enrollment in the Indiana Patient Compensation Fund. ACLS certification through the American Heart Association is also needed, and temporary assignments require a clean background check.
