Full details
The role covers a broad case mix, including complete orthopedic, complex vascular, head and spine, neuro, obstetrical, pediatric and regional procedures. Anesthesia types listed include general anesthesia for adults and children, spinal and epidural anesthesia, and post-operative epidural and extremity blocks. Other responsibilities include neurosurgical cases of the spine and head, complex orthopedic work, ventilation management, evaluation and treatment of acute volume and blood pressure problems, thoracic cases other than open heart, pain management techniques, and placement of central lines and arterial lines.
The CRNA would practice independently, so comfort working without direct supervision is expected, along with performing regional blocks. Training for blocks is not provided, and candidates must supply case logs documenting the blocks they have performed.
Candidates must be board-certified with at least one year of experience and hold current ACLS, PALS and BLS certifications. An active New Mexico license is required to present for the position. The role requires taking call. The provider must live more than 90 miles from the facility.
