Full details
This full-time day position centers on anesthesia care, with the CRNA responsible for preoperative assessments and documentation, developing anesthetic plans, and starting general, regional, local, or sedation techniques. The role also includes ongoing monitoring of each patient's physical condition, selecting and giving anesthetics, drugs, and fluids, and handling emergencies as they arise. Pain management, including acute and chronic approaches, is part of the duties.
After surgery, the CRNA oversees patients in postanesthesia care, decides when they are ready for discharge, and follows up on them afterward. On-call coverage is required by the department. All services are performed under physician supervision, as Ohio law requires. The position is part of a high reliability organization, so safety, quality, and efficiency are emphasized in daily work.
Minimum requirements include an associate's degree and current Ohio licensure as a registered nurse. The CRNA must have graduated from an accredited nurse anesthesia program, passed the AANA certification examination, and meet the AANA criteria for biennial recertification, including active practice and continuing education. The schedule is set at 40 hours per week on a day shift.
