Full details

This full-time-equivalent position at Hardin Memorial involves 32 hours per week, scheduled Monday through Thursday, and carries no call obligation. The CRNA would complete and document preanesthetic assessments, build and carry out anesthetic plans, and begin the anesthetic technique, whether general, regional, local, or sedation-based. Throughout a case the practitioner monitors the patient's physical condition, chooses and gives anesthetics, drugs, and fluids, and handles emergencies as they arise.

After surgery, the CRNA discharges patients from postanesthesia care and follows up with them afterward. Additional duties include providing postanesthesia care, managing acute and chronic pain with a range of methods, and covering on-call shifts when the department requires it. All services are overseen by a physician, as Ohio law requires.

Applicants need an associate's degree or higher, graduation from an approved nursing program, and current Ohio licensure as a registered nurse. They must also have completed a nurse anesthesia program accredited by the AANA Council on Accreditation, passed the AANA certification exam, and hold NBCRNA certification, which is renewed every two years through continuing education and verification of fitness to practice.
