Full details
This locum tenens role at Sanford Health is for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, with a scheduled workload of 20 hours per week and a shift that varies. The position is not unionized. Sanford describes itself as a large not-for-profit health system with a broad footprint across the United States.
The CRNA would deliver anesthesia or sedation for surgical and non-surgical procedures. Responsibilities include creating and carrying out a pre-anesthetic plan, writing orders before, during and after procedures, and coordinating with the other clinicians caring for each patient. The role also involves speaking with patients, their families and the wider care team, ordering diagnostic tests when needed, and watching patients closely, including hemodynamic monitoring, so the anesthesia plan can be adjusted. The posting also asks the nurse to be able to address the growth and development needs of all patient populations.
Applicants need a Bachelor of Science degree from an approved, accredited advanced practice program. A master's degree, Doctor of Nursing Practice or PhD is preferred. A current, unencumbered license from the state board of nursing in each state of practice is required, or multi-state licensure privileges where the position calls for them. CRNA certification from the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists must be held and maintained, along with any department-specific competencies. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is preferred.
