This locum tenens assignment in Virginia is open to CRNAs seeking short-term work at a hospital partner. The schedule runs eight hours a day, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, across a 44-week assignment. The site has 34 anesthesia rooms and handles endoscopy, general surgery, and orthopedic cases.

Duties include completing pre-anesthesia assessments, confirming patient consent, and reviewing anesthetic options and their risks with each patient. The anesthetist manages induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia, watches the patient's physiological status throughout, and carries out clinical interventions when needed.

Credentialing takes about 90 days, though emergency privileges can be granted in under 30 days and temporary privileges in 30 to 60 days. Applicants should hold or be eligible for BCRNA board status and must hold current AANA certification from the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists, whether original or renewed. A current registered nurse license is required, and a Virginia state license is preferred, although it may be obtained after hire. Graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program is also required.
