Full details
The role is a PRN position at Merit Health Wesley, a 211-bed hospital that holds accreditation as the area's first Chest Pain Center and is the sole local hospital accredited for Heart Failure care. The schedule runs Monday through Friday in 8- or 10-hour blocks on an as-needed basis, and taking call is optional. Anesthesia cases cover obstetrics, gynecology, endoscopy, urology, ophthalmology, general surgery, cardiovascular, and neuro spine, with neuro head procedures excluded.
The CRNA would deliver conscious sedation and MAC anesthesia for both outpatient and inpatient procedures. Core responsibilities include completing pre-anesthetic evaluations and documentation, ordering pre-anesthetic medications and fluids, securing informed consent, managing airways, overseeing emergence and recovery, and discharging patients from the post-anesthesia area with follow-up care for any complications. The provider would also respond to emergencies using airway support, emergency medications and fluids, or basic or advanced cardiac life support.
The staffing firm describes itself as a comprehensive anesthesia management company founded in 2003 that aims to support providers in leadership roles and long-term employment. The position calls for working as a collaborator within the group, following AANA and local, state, and federal rules, developing continuity-of-care standards, attending meetings as needed, and helping colleagues solve problems.
Candidates must be able to read and write English, write routine reports, present information clearly to supervisors, patients, families, and staff, and use general computer skills including Microsoft Office. The role requires strict adherence to HIPAA privacy rules and an annual HIPAA exam.
Qualifications include graduation from an approved nursing school and from a nurse anesthesia program accredited by the AANA Council on Accreditation, plus successful completion of the AANA Council on Certification examination. Applicants should hold ACLS, BLS, and PALS certification and have at least two years of independent practice experience.
