Full details

The CRNA will deliver full anesthesia care to adult and pediatric orthopedic patients having outpatient and elective surgical procedures. This role involves working alongside orthopedic surgeons and perioperative teams to carry out pre-anesthetic assessments, build individualized care plans for complex orthopedic cases, and provide general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care. Regional techniques include ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks and sedation.

Responsibilities include monitoring hemodynamics, airway safety, fluid status, and other clinical markers throughout surgery and adjusting care in real time. The CRNA also directs acute postoperative pain management to support smooth recovery and early mobilization. Clinical documentation must be thorough and accurate, meeting unit standards and state regulatory requirements. Close coordination with surgeons, perioperative nurses, and surgical technicians is expected to keep patient flow efficient and safety standards high.

Required qualifications include a BSN from a regionally accredited institution and at least one to two years of active ICU or critical care experience, such as in a surgical, medical, or cardiovascular ICU, before anesthesia training. The candidate must hold a Master's or Doctoral degree from a COA-accredited nurse anesthesia program and maintain active NBCRNA certification. Current BLS and ACLS certifications are also required.

Licensing requirements in Nevada include a current, unencumbered RN license and active APRN authorization in nurse anesthesia from the Nevada State Board of Nursing, or eligibility for endorsement before the start date. The CRNA must also hold an active Nevada State Board of Pharmacy license for prescriptive authority and an active DEA controlled substance registration.
