Full details
This CRNA role with Ambulatory Anesthesia Care, a Texas group of anesthesia providers, moves away from hospital-based anesthesia coverage and into ambulatory surgery centers, office-based anesthesia sites and acute care surgical hospitals. The group serves DFW, Houston, El Paso, Corpus Christi and Austin across orthopedics, gynecology, ENT, gastroenterology, general surgery, spine, pain management, podiatry, urology and pediatric and adult dental cases.
The practice is designed to avoid overnight work: providers are finished once the day's cases end, late-day coverage generally wraps up before 6 PM, and there is no routine weekend or night call. Elective Saturday cases are staffed by volunteers who receive extra pay. The caseload excludes obstetrics, cardiothoracic, trauma and neonatal anesthesia. Typical hours run 35 to 45 per week, with seasonal changes, and full-time or PRN arrangements are both offered.
Scheduling flexibility comes from credentialing at several facilities, which allows early-release requests and individualized calendars. Providers may need to travel to a few client sites, though rarely more than one in a day, so reliable transportation is expected. Malpractice coverage is provided by the group, with tail coverage also available.
Benefits include access to medical, dental and vision insurance, a retirement plan, and additional options such as disability and life insurance. Paid time away begins at over six weeks per year and includes federal holidays on which the sites are closed. Professional development is supported through clinical management roles and sponsored ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia courses for qualified providers.
Qualifications include NBCRNA board certification or eligibility and a willingness to work in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. Candidates licensed in Illinois, Oregon or Washington, or willing to cover AAC's other Texas locations, may be considered for additional openings.
