Tampa General Hospital is a private, not-for-profit facility with more than 1,000 beds that serves a dozen counties and a population exceeding 4,000,000 people. It is the only Level 1 trauma center in its region, one of three burn centers in Florida, and a major transplant center that has completed over 6,000 adult solid organ transplants. The hospital also serves as the principal teaching site for the University of South Florida Health Morsani College of Medicine.
