Full details
The role is a PRN CRNA position in ambulatory surgery centers, where the nurse anesthetist delivers safe, high-quality anesthesia to patients having surgical and procedural care. The CRNA works within a collaborative model alongside anesthesiologists, surgeons, nursing staff, and facility leadership, with the goal of efficient, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities include completing pre-anesthetic evaluations with history review, physical exam, and risk assessment; building individualized anesthesia plans for outpatient surgical patients; and providing general, regional, monitored anesthesia care, and sedation as clinically appropriate. The clinician manages airways, hemodynamics, fluids, and anesthetic depth across the perioperative period, handles post-anesthesia pain control, emergence, and discharge readiness, and responds to perioperative emergencies using ACLS-based care.
The CRNA communicates with surgeons, PACU staff, pre-admission testing teams, and facility leaders, and helps improve daily case flow, scheduling, and turnover times. Anesthesia records, including intraoperative and post-anesthesia documentation in the electronic health record, must be completed accurately and in line with protocols, facility policies, and regulations. The position also requires maintaining current credentialing, licensure, and privileges at assigned sites.
Quality and safety duties include taking part in peer review, quality assurance, and performance improvement work, following standards for patient safety, infection control, and risk management, and supporting consistent anesthesia practices across the supported facilities. The nurse represents the organization professionally and is expected to be reliable, adaptable, and accountable in a fast-paced setting.
Candidates need current CRNA certification from the NBCRNA, graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program, and active, unrestricted RN and APRN licensure in the practice state. Current ACLS and BLS are required, with PALS where the facility asks for it, and the candidate must be eligible for credentialing and privileging at ambulatory surgery centers. Prior ASC or outpatient anesthesia experience, regional anesthesia and ultrasound skills, and familiarity with SIS Epic and Cerner are preferred.
The work involves extended standing, manual tasks tied to anesthesia delivery, rapid response to emergencies, and schedule flexibility based on case volume. Pay is a daily rate for a 1099 contractor, with malpractice coverage available at the provider's cost if needed. The schedule runs Monday through Friday with no call, nights, or weekends, and the practice is limited to ambulatory surgery centers.
The practice describes a collaborative, clinician-led environment with an emphasis on work-life balance, pay it calls competitive with the market, and chances for professional growth, leadership involvement, and practice development. Its stated values center on patient safety, clinical excellence, integrity, collaboration and respect, and continuous improvement.
