Full details
Samaritan Hospital in Troy, New York, together with St. Peter's Health Partners, is seeking one additional CRNA for a hospital-based anesthesia practice. The position is a consistent, ongoing day schedule running 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., starting October 1, and no other shift times are currently offered. The practice operates with one supervising physician for every three CRNAs, and the role covers a single campus, so no travel is involved.
The case mix includes general surgery, endoscopy, vascular, obstetrics, orthopedics, bariatric surgery, and urogynecology, while cardiac, neurosurgery, and thoracic cases are excluded. Pediatric cases are low in volume, and the facility has 7 operating rooms. Spinal epidurals are expected of CRNAs here. The obstetric service delivers about 100 babies per month, with a low epidural rate and a 15% cesarean rate, supported by a large midwifery program. The EMR is Epic.
Weekend work involves 24-hour call from 7 a.m. to 7 a.m., and weeknight on-call runs from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Candidates need NBCRNA certification, BLS, ACLS, and PALS, and an active New York license in hand. A DEA registration is required, verified verbally at name clearance. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is also required, confirmed verbally at name clearance, and the employer does not accept religious or medical exemptions. Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the site. Credentialing generally takes two to three months and can be expedited for a faster start.
For permanent CRNAs, the employer offers up to $5k in relocation reimbursement, a $25k starting bonus, and $10k payments at both year two and year three. An annual CME allowance of $500 is provided, along with one week of CME time. The employer does not cover credentialing costs or application fees.
