Full details

A $25,000 sign-on bonus is offered for this full-time CRNA position in Los Angeles. The nurse anesthetist works under the medical supervision of an anesthesiologist to deliver general and regional anesthesia for surgical, obstetrical and other procedures requiring anesthesia. Patients range from neonates and children to adolescents, adults and older adults, and care follows hospital and departmental standards.

Anesthesia care may involve airway management, fluid and hemodynamic balance, patient monitoring, emergency response including airway crises and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and ventilator management. Before surgery, the CRNA interviews and examines each patient, reviews the chart, and selects an anesthetic in collaboration with the anesthesiologist, adjusting for the patient's response to premedication. Intraoperatively the CRNA monitors the patient and responds to changes, and afterward evaluates the patient within 24 hours.

Other duties include checking and maintaining anesthesia equipment daily and between cases, preparing medications, keeping an accurate count of controlled substances, communicating with surgeons and anesthesiologists about patient concerns, and precepting student nurse anesthetists. The CRNA works within delineated clinical privileges and must follow the organization's policies, accreditation standards and state regulations. Courteous, cooperative relations with patients, staff and the public are expected, along with other tasks within the scope of licensure.
