Full details

MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center in Lancaster, SC is recruiting a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to work within a collaborative Anesthesia Care Team. The CRNA would work beside seasoned CRNAs and board-certified anesthesiologists, providing hands-on anesthesia across a broad range of procedures at two campuses, Lancaster and Chester. The model gives CRNAs room to manage their own cases while drawing on physician partnership and institutional resources.

The Lancaster site runs an anesthesia care team and medical supervision model, while Chester operates as a CRNA-only model. Typical case types include urology, general surgery, orthopedics, kidney transplants and obstetrics, with a separate dedicated night team available on an optional basis. Shifts are 8, 10 or 12 hours, and separate dedicated night and weekend call staff are in place. Additional skills noted include USGRA, SAB, lower extremity blocks and central lines.

Required qualifications include experience with vascular, minimal pediatric, neuro, regional and orthopedic anesthesia, along with anesthesia for outpatient surgery. Candidates must have graduated from a Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs-approved program. Those hired after March 1, 2019 need a master's degree or higher in nurse anesthesia. The role requires eligibility for medical malpractice insurance through MUSC's insurer, recognition as an APRN, and a current or obtainable South Carolina license. Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certification from an AHA or American Red Cross course is also required.

The position is a full-time employee role with a scheduled 40 hours per week, paid hourly or on salary under pay grade Health-36. Benefits include competitive compensation, employer-funded retirement plans, paid occurrence malpractice coverage and paid parental leave. Providers also receive access to Epic EHR with provider-focused optimization, AI-enabled documentation tools and team-based care models designed to keep workloads sustainable.

Lancaster sits about 45 minutes from Charlotte, North Carolina, and offers access to Charlotte's amenities and airport while keeping a close-knit community feel. Nearby areas such as Ballantyne, Waxhaw and Indian Land are each a short drive away, with schools, parks, shopping and outdoor recreation in the region.
