Full details

MUSC Health in Chester, South Carolina is looking for a skilled, self-motivated Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join a CRNA-only anesthesia team. The position allows the nurse anesthetist to practice independently at the full scope of their license, with backing from the MUSC Health Lancaster Anesthesia Team. The role is a regular, employee-type position with a scheduled 40 hours per week, paid on an hourly or salary basis.

The work centers on regional, general, and monitored anesthesia care. Duties include performing all aspects of regional anesthesia, such as ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks and spinal anesthesia, completing independent pre-anesthesia evaluations, and building anesthetic plans suited to each patient. The nurse anesthetist also monitors patients during surgery, manages recovery, works closely with surgeons, proceduralists, and nursing staff, and takes part in quality improvement and patient safety efforts. Typical cases include orthopedic procedures on the upper and lower extremities, vascular work such as AV fistulas and endovascular procedures, general abdominal surgery, and endoscopy.

Candidates need proficiency in regional anesthesia techniques, current NBCRNA certification, and an active, unrestricted South Carolina APRN license or eligibility for one. The posting asks for no more than one year of CRNA experience.

The medical center is an 82-bed facility serving Chester County, offering emergency, family medicine, orthopedic, women's health, and other services. Chester sits about 20 minutes from Rock Hill and roughly 30 miles from Lancaster.

Benefits include competitive compensation, employer-funded retirement plans, paid occurrence malpractice coverage, paid parental leave, a CME allowance, eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness, and one-on-one support for student debt. The practice uses Epic with AI-enabled documentation tools and promotes team-based care intended to keep workloads sustainable.
