Full details

The Department of Anesthesiology at Elmhurst Hospital in Elmhurst, Illinois, is seeking a full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, with an average schedule of 40 hours per week. Days run weekday daytime hours, though some off-shifts may be needed. The hourly pay range shown is $122.60 to $162.41, with the final rate set by the candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors. No travel is required.

CRNAs work as part of the medical group within a collaborative Anesthesia Care Team. They carry out assignments under the chief of the Department of Anesthesiology and the specific direction of the designated attending anesthesiologist, who decides how much of the service the CRNA provides. The scope of practice is described as unlimited. Patients range from pediatric to geriatric, so the role calls for assessing and treating each age group with appropriate medications, equipment, and setups.

Case types include neurology, general surgery, thoracic, urology, plastics, orthopedics, ophthalmology, interventional radiology, the cath lab, GI, and MRI. CRNAs also perform regional techniques such as spinal anesthesia and peripheral nerve blocks. The practice describes its CRNAs as reporting high job satisfaction and retention, and the setting supports skill-building, mentorship, and leadership opportunities.

Candidates need an Illinois Advanced Practice Nurse license and a degree from an approved nurse anesthesia school. They must be certified or board eligible as a CRNA and renew certification every two years. BLS and ACLS are required, and PALS is recommended. Both new graduates and experienced nurse anesthetists are invited to apply.

Benefits include medical, dental, and vision plan options, health savings account options, a wellness program, a savings plan with retirement options and company match, paid time off and holiday pay, tuition reimbursement, a CME allowance, free parking at designated locations, career pathways for professional growth, and community involvement opportunities.
