Full details
This per diem CRNA position is based at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, Florida, a newly added site within the Lee Health system. The hospital is the system's largest, with 624 beds and 22 operating rooms, and it houses the only Level II Trauma Center between Bradenton and Miami. It also hosts a Neuroscience Institute and an accredited comprehensive stroke center, along with orthopedic, oncology, and cardiology services.
The anesthesia group handles close to 20,000 cases a year and works under a shared care team model that emphasizes every member having a voice and supporting one another in delivering excellent care. Case assignments span general, endoscopy, orthopedic, vascular, neurosurgical, gynecologic, urologic, radiology, and ENT procedures.
Responsibilities include delivering full anesthesia care across a range of surgical cases, completing pre-anesthesia assessments and securing informed consent, and developing anesthetic plans in discussion with patients. The nurse anesthetist manages induction, maintenance, and emergence, monitors physiological status and intervenes as needed, and contributes to departmental coordination and clinical leadership.
Candidates need a current registered professional nurse license and graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program, and must hold or have renewed AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists certification. The pay is listed at $150 per hour, and malpractice insurance coverage is fully paid.
