A locum tenens CRNA position is open in Olean, New York, on a 52-week contract. The role calls for at least one year of experience, and the schedule is five 8-hour shifts running from 06:00 to 14:30.
The anesthetist would prepare and give anesthesia, care for patients before, during and after surgery, and take part in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Duties also include trauma stabilization, critical care interventions, and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic pain. The provider is expected to keep up with new anesthesia techniques, equipment and drugs and to keep patient records accurate and complete.
Candidates need an active, unencumbered RN license in the state where they will work, with no flagged or under-investigation status. A BSN is required, along with an MSN or DNP from an accredited CRNA program; the DNP becomes mandatory as of 2025. Certification from the NBCRNA is required, and ongoing continuing medical education is needed to keep that certification and the medical licenses current. Preferred experience is one to two years working as a CRNA or in an anesthesia setting.
Useful skills include hands-on anesthesia proficiency, sound judgment under pressure, clear communication with surgical teams, careful attention to detail, and the ability to adjust to shifting patient conditions.
The package includes access to leading hospitals and health systems across varied care environments, pay described as competitive and transparent, travel and lodging coverage, malpractice coverage with risk management support, and in-house help with credentialing, licensing and assignment logistics. Timekeeping and document management are handled through streamlined systems. Other benefits may be provided where applicable law requires them.
