This is a full-time, benefits-eligible CRNA position at Aurora West Allis Medical Center within the Anesthesiology group, scheduled for 40 hours per week on a 4-10 schedule. The listed pay range is $97.75 to $156.40.

The CRNA delivers the full range of anesthesia services before, during, and after procedures, including general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care, in line with the anesthesia plan and in coordination with the surgical team. Responsibilities include preoperative evaluation and informed consent, selecting and giving anesthetics and adjuvant drugs, managing induction, maintenance, and emergence, and handling emergencies with advanced airway management and cardiac life support. The role also covers post-anesthesia care, such as staying with patients until safe handoff, providing post-operative epidural and other analgesia with the surgeon, and following up on anesthesia-related complications.

Additional duties involve accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation, compliant coding and billing, and participation in quality, safety, and peer review activities and committees. The CRNA also helps onboard and teach new staff, students, and other health professionals, and is expected to meet productivity, access, and quality targets. Care must be tailored to patients across all ages, based on growth and development principles.

Required credentials include an active RN license and APRN authorization in the state of practice, plus active national certification as a CRNA from the NBCRNA. Candidates need an active DEA registration before hire, and an Illinois Controlled Substance License before hire if practicing in Illinois. ACLS, PALS, and NRP are needed as the site or role requires, within six months of hire. A Master's degree in nursing is required, and no prior experience is necessary.

Preferred skills include strong clinical judgment, independent and team-based work, adaptability to new technology, proficiency with electronic records, and clear communication. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, pushing or pulling 30 pounds of force, transferring a 150-pound patient with a second person, frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching, and exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, and blood or body fluid hazards on a continuous basis.

Benefits described include base pay within the stated range, shift and on-call premium pay, possible incentive pay and annual performance increases, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage, flexible spending accounts, family benefits such as paid parental leave, retirement plans with employer match, and an educational assistance program.
