Full details

This part-time, as-needed (PRN) CRNA position sits within the Anesthesiology department at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh, part of the Specialist Group under the 04020 AMG cost center. The role is not benefits eligible and carries no set weekly hours. The posted pay range is $97.75 to $156.40.

The anesthetist handles the full span of anesthesia care, including pre-anesthesia, intraoperative, and post-anesthesia services across general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care. The work involves preoperative evaluation and informed consent, preparing equipment, medications, and supplies for each planned anesthetic, and administering induction, maintenance, and emergence. The CRNA also selects and gives anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, and fluids, and manages emergencies with advanced airway skills and advanced cardiac life support. After surgery, the CRNA stays with the patient until care is handed off, provides post-operative epidural and other analgesia alongside the surgeon, and follows up on anesthesia-related complications.

Other duties include timely, accurate electronic medical record documentation and professional billing that follows compliant coding practices. The CRNA is expected to take part in quality and peer review work, departmental meetings, and committees, and to help onboard and teach new staff and students. Productivity, patient access, face-to-face time, and quality measures are tracked, and the role requires age-appropriate knowledge across the patient lifespan.

Candidates need an active RN license and an APRN credential in the state of practice, plus current national certification as a CRNA. A Master's degree in nursing is required, along with an active DEA registration before hire. Illinois practice also requires an Illinois controlled substance license. ACLS, PALS, and NRP are required as the site or role dictates, within six months of hire. No prior experience is required.

The position calls for a high level of clinical skill, sound judgment, the ability to work alone and within a team, comfort with evolving technology and the electronic record, strong communication, and solid organizational habits. Physical demands include functional vision and hearing, lifting up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, frequent positioning and transfers of patients, use of foot pedals, and exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, and bodily fluid hazards, with protective gear worn as needed.

Advocate Health, the parent organization, describes its total rewards package as including base pay within the posted range, premium pay for shifts and on-call work, possible incentive pay, annual performance-based increases, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage, flexible spending accounts, family leave benefits, retirement plans with employer match, and educational assistance.
