Full details
This locums opening is at a Missouri hospital whose Women's Unit handles about 670 births a year and is currently staffed by four obstetricians and two certified nurse-midwives, with two obstetrician positions vacant after recent resignations. Obstetric backup comes from fellow obstetricians and midwives during emergencies, and first assistants rather than providers assist with cesarean sections. Mid-level clinicians work in labor and delivery alongside CRNA services. The hospital offers urology, round-the-clock general surgery, nighttime and weekend anesthesia coverage, a Level II NICU with maternal-fetal medicine support, and a robotic surgery program, and it uses the EPIC electronic record.
The attached clinic sees about 120 patients on an average day, with each provider handling 25 to 30 patients daily, and four to five physicians plus two advanced practice providers working there. It is roughly ten minutes from the hospital and runs Monday through Thursday with a half day on Friday. After-hours calls go to the hospital, and the clinic performs Nexplanon insertions and reads its own ultrasounds, but it does not take walk-in or same-day visits.
