Full details
Two locum assignments for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists are available in the Pittsburgh area, and a provider may take one site or move between both for variety. Both positions are scheduled Monday through Friday with no call and no weekends, and they carry guaranteed weekly hours with full-scope case exposure. Travel package options are offered alongside the assignments.
The Eastern Suburbs assignment sits in a busy suburban corridor just outside Pittsburgh, with quick access to downtown. The facility has 14 operating rooms and a heavy surgical schedule. Shifts can be arranged as five 8-hour days, four 10-hour days, or two 8-hour plus two 12-hour days. Cases include general, orthopedic, endoscopic, vascular, ENT, neurologic, and cardiac procedures, with supervision set at 1:2 to 1:4 depending on complexity. The EMR is Epic, and the start date is as soon as credentialing is complete.
The West Penn assignment is at a 289-bed facility near Pittsburgh's East End. It includes 12 operating rooms, eight offsite anesthetizing locations, and obstetrics services. Shifts are fixed four 10-hour days, with supervision at 1:3 under MD oversight and no anesthesia assistants in the practice. Cases include general, orthopedic, ENT, neurologic, urologic, GI, and OB procedures. Epic is the EMR, and the start is as soon as credentialing is complete, with temporary placements available.
Compensation is quoted at $200 to $250-plus per hour, negotiable based on commitment and availability. Providers may choose an all-inclusive rate or a travel-inclusive package that covers flights, hotel, and a rental car. Malpractice coverage is provided, and support is offered for credentialing and logistics, along with optional contractor benefits through an independent contractor association.
Candidates need NBCRNA certification and an active Pennsylvania CRNA license, which is strongly preferred. Required credentials include BLS, ACLS, a minimum of two years of CRNA experience, and a Child Abuse Clearance, which is a Pennsylvania licensing requirement.
