Full details
This locum tenens assignment places a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in a rural hospital in northern Wisconsin's lakes region, in a resort-town setting. The role is full-time and suits independent practitioners who prefer a rural hospital pace and an unhurried rhythm between cases. The start date is as soon as possible, with an estimated 60-day credentialing period, and the need is ongoing, with six or more months preferred.
Weekday shifts run Monday through Friday, either 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The CRNA works solo and covers a mix of inpatient and outpatient cases, with rotating night and weekend beeper call that requires a response within 30 minutes.
Clinical work includes MAC, general anesthesia, regional techniques, epidurals and obstetric anesthesia, along with elective orthopedic, gynecologic, urologic and general surgery cases. Responsibilities also include ventilation and airway management and placement of central and arterial lines. Cardiac, complex neurologic and complex vascular cases are excluded.
The facility uses Dräger anesthesia machines, Omnicell medication dispensing and the Cerner electronic medical record.
Pay is hourly, with a stated range of $225 to $260 per hour, negotiable and based on hours worked and length of term commitment. Travel, lodging and either a rental car or mileage are reimbursed, and an all-inclusive rate package is available on request. Malpractice coverage with an A+ rating is included.
Contractors have access to the Independent Contractors Benefits Association, help with credentialing and dedicated locum support. The area offers hiking, kayaking, boating and winter snow sports, with cafes and shops in town and a short drive to larger cities in central Wisconsin.
