Full details
A locum Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist is sought for a busy, high-acuity obstetrics service at a large academic hospital in Central North Carolina, with the hospital's name kept confidential. The assignment is inpatient and OB-only, running overnight from 6:30 pm to 7:00 am, with coverage needed on Mondays, Fridays, and weekends. The hospital handles more than 7,500 deliveries a year, so the role suits anesthetists with strong epidural and spinal skills who want a high-volume labor and delivery environment. Coverage is in-house, the start is as soon as possible on an ongoing basis, and the facility uses Epic.
Required skills include epidural and spinal anesthesia, ventilation management, and evaluating acute fluid volume and blood pressure problems. Central and arterial line placement is preferred, as is prior high-volume labor and delivery experience, and OB-focused experience is required. Candidates must hold board certification and an NC license or an IMLC-accepted license, plus BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Credentialing takes roughly 60 to 90 days.
Pay is hourly, generally between $225 and $260 per hour depending on term and availability, and the rate is negotiable. Travel, lodging, and car rental or mileage are covered, and all-inclusive rate packages are available on request. Malpractice insurance is provided through an A+ rated carrier. The contractor also receives support from the staffing firm and access to benefits through the Independent Contractors Benefits Association.
The Central North Carolina setting is an urban center known for medical innovation, affordable living, and easy access to both mountains and coast, with a lively arts scene, breweries, and universities.
