Full details

A full-time CRNA position in Riverside offers a $25,000 sign-on bonus. Working under the medical supervision of an anesthesiologist, the CRNA provides general and regional anesthesia for surgical, obstetric and other procedures requiring anesthesia care. Patients range from neonates and children to adolescents, adults and older adults, and care follows hospital and departmental standards.

Clinical work includes airway management, fluid and hemodynamic maintenance, patient monitoring, emergency response including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and care of ventilated patients. Before surgery, the CRNA interviews and examines each patient, reviews the chart, and chooses an anesthetic plan with the anesthesiologist, taking into account how each age group matures physically, cognitively and emotionally. The CRNA also reviews premedication response, coordinates special concerns with the surgeon and anesthesiologist, and administers anesthesia within granted privileges.

Intraoperatively, the CRNA monitors patients and responds to changes in their condition. Afterward, the CRNA evaluates each patient within 24 hours. Daily and between-case equipment checks, drug preparation, controlled substance accounting and equipment upkeep are also part of the role, along with precepting student nurse anesthetists.

The position requires following organizational rules and accreditation and state regulations, and maintaining courteous working relationships with patients, colleagues and the public. Other duties within the scope of the CRNA license may be assigned.
