A permanent CRNA position is available at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois, within a department of more than 60 CRNAs that handles over 19,500 cases a year at a research and teaching hospital that is a Level I trauma center. The department is described as autonomous and team-centered, with CRNAs working independently while still collaborating with anesthesiologists. New graduates are welcome to apply.

The schedule is four ten-hour shifts per week with no in-house call. Call is on a second-call basis, covering two to three weekends per year, one holiday per year, and one weekday roughly every three weeks. Three subgroups of CRNAs cover obstetrics, pediatrics, and cardiac cases, and the role includes all surgical services except transplants and burns.

The benefits package includes 5.4 to 6.4 weeks of paid time off, six paid holidays, a floating holiday, access to sick bank time, and a week off for continuing medical education. It also provides an annual CME allowance, malpractice insurance, retirement plan matching, and an annual bonus.
