A locum tenens opening for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist is available in O Fallon, Illinois, on a 12-week contract. Candidates should have at least one year of experience, with one to two years as a CRNA or in an anesthesia setting preferred.

The CRNA will prepare and give anesthesia and provide patient care before, during, and after surgery. Other duties include taking part in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, stabilizing trauma patients, delivering critical care, and managing acute and chronic pain. The role also calls for keeping up with new anesthesia techniques, equipment, and medications, and maintaining accurate, complete patient records.

The schedule is five 8-hour shifts, running from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Required credentials include a BSN, an MSN or DNP from an accredited CRNA program, and certification from the NBCRNA, along with continuing medical education to keep that certification and medical licenses current. A DNP is required beginning in 2025.

Applicants need an active, unrestricted RN license in the state where they will work, and a license with no flags or open investigations. A new state license can be arranged if an assignment requires one.
