Full details

This is a locum tenens assignment for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in Fredericksburg, Virginia, with care delivered in a hospital and in outpatient surgical centers. The role starts as soon as possible and is scheduled for 36 to 40 hours a week, using shifts of 8, 10, or 12 hours, with day, night, and weekend options depending on department needs. The successful candidate would work one weekend and one holiday shift in each 8-week schedule.

Duties include providing anesthesia across several settings, including Level 2 trauma work, and covering cases in obstetrics, thoracic surgery, and pediatrics for otherwise healthy patients, along with other service lines. The CRNA would perform spinal and epidural blocks independently and may be asked to take call shifts as the department requires. Nightly or weekend call is available and compensated separately.

Candidates need a current Virginia license or one in process, current AHA certifications, and at least two years of experience, including mandatory Level 2 trauma experience. Proficiency in obstetric and thoracic anesthesia is expected, and experience across orthopedic, GI, and ENT cases is valued. Strong skill in spinal and epidural management, adaptability between hospital settings, and good communication within a team are also sought.

Benefits include weekly direct deposit, malpractice coverage with tail protection, credentialing support, and lodging and mileage reimbursement where applicable. Housing and travel assistance may be discussed with candidates who are not local to the area.
