Full details

This part-time CRNA opening is based in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, at UPMC Williamsport. The provider would deliver anesthesia across a varied caseload that spans cardiac, plastic, thoracic, vascular, trauma, and pediatric procedures. The posting describes flexible scheduling intended to support work-life balance.

The position's core purpose is to deliver anesthetic care to patients of every type, working alongside the supervising or medically directing physician under the Department of Anesthesiology's standards and hospital policies. The nurse anesthetist administers medication that keeps patients free from pain during surgery, watches how each patient responds to sedatives, analgesics, and anesthetic agents, and alerts the anesthesiologist to any adverse change that could endanger a patient.

Responsibilities include being accountable for controlled substances under departmental, hospital, state, and federal rules. The CRNA also helps teach and assess newly hired CRNAs, GRNAs, and SRNAs in the clinical setting. Care spans four areas: preparation and evaluation before anesthesia, induction, maintenance, and emergence, recovery afterward, and support functions around the procedure.

Additional duties involve checking consent paperwork, confirming the correct surgical site with the operating room team and surgeon, and following regulatory compliance standards. The provider takes part in quality improvement work by documenting cases, reporting incidents, reviewing outcomes, providing education, and carrying out the QI plan.
