Full details
This per diem position in Savannah, Georgia, is with an anesthesia practice that works across Candler Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital and offers a team-based model with considerable clinical autonomy. Candler Hospital, founded in 1804, is the first hospital in Georgia and the second-oldest continuously operating hospital in the United States. It has 384 beds, is affiliated with the Methodist Church, and offers primary care, outpatient services and numerous specialties. St. Joseph's Hospital has served its community since 1934, and a new six-story tower there adds 90 private rooms.
The practice has provided anesthesia across the Southeast Georgia region for more than 60 years, including at St. Joseph's and Candler, Effingham Hospital in Springfield, and several ambulatory surgery centers. Its care-team approach emphasizes giving every member a voice while supporting one another in delivering excellent care.
Pay is listed at $175 per hour. Malpractice insurance coverage is fully paid. The schedule runs Monday through Friday from 0700 to 1500, with call and non-call options and other shifts also available.
Case work spans cardiac, general, orthopedic, neuro, GI, vascular, endocrine, gynecology and pediatric procedures, plus radiologic and interventional cardiac procedures. Obstetric cases are not included.
Responsibilities include providing comprehensive anesthesia care across surgical procedures, completing pre-anesthesia evaluations and securing informed consent, and developing and reviewing anesthetic plans with patients. The CRNA manages induction, maintenance and emergence, monitors physiological status and intervenes as needed, and supports departmental coordination and clinical leadership.
Candidates need a current license as a registered professional nurse, graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program, and certification or recertification through the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists.
