Full details
University Hospitals is recruiting Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists for its community-based anesthesia team. Professionals at any career stage, from experienced clinicians to new graduates, can build a practice suited to their interests and goals, while drawing on the stability and resources of a large health system.
Anesthetists work as integral members of the Anesthesia Care Team alongside anesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses, trainees, and other clinicians to deliver safe, efficient, patient-centered perioperative care. Responsibilities include interviewing patients to confirm readiness for anesthesia, explaining the anesthetic plan and its risks to patients and families, placing access lines and starting preoperative therapies, and preparing equipment and medications. The role also involves assisting with induction, maintenance, and emergence, transferring patients safely to the post-operative area, and handing off care to nursing staff. Anesthetists may also establish and secure airways, including intubation, as part of the resuscitation team across the institution.
The primary assignment is at UH Geauga Medical Center, with travel to other east-side community hospitals when needed. The on-call commitment is 36 to 48 hours per month. Other duties may be assigned, and staff must follow department policies and standards, including protection of patient health information.
Benefits include enhanced paid time off for those with five or more years of experience, comprehensive benefits with retirement plans, professional and CME support, a career ladder, and flexible scheduling. A sign-on bonus of up to $30,000 is offered, and a student loan repayment program of up to $15,000 is available to new graduates only.
