Full details
The OB CRNA will independently complete a thorough preoperative assessment, reviewing the patient's medical history to confirm eligibility for obstetric delivery in a community hospital setting. Available locations include UH Geauga, TriPoint, Ahuja, and St John Medical Centers.
Responsibilities include educating patients and their support persons about the anesthetic plan and its potential risks, documenting those risk discussions, and preparing patients for possible epidural, spinal, combined spinal-epidural, or general anesthesia. The CRNA also readies the equipment and medications needed for each planned anesthetic and starts epidural infusions.
The role involves performing regional and general anesthetics independently, including intubation when needed to secure airway and ventilation across the institution, and serving on the resuscitation team. The CRNA consults physician anesthesiologists as needed about case complexity or backup support.
Collaboration with the obstetrician, midwives, nurse practitioners, and other team members is central to the position, as is safely transporting patients to the operating room when applicable and handing anesthetic care off smoothly to nursing staff.
The position calls for flexibility in scheduling and call coverage, along with contributing positively to the OB CRNA team. Additional duties within CRNA scope and organizational policy may be assigned, and the CRNA must follow all policies and protect patient health information under the organization's code of conduct and annual training requirements.
A sign-on bonus of up to $30,000 is offered, based on experience level.
