Full details

Marshfield Medical Center in Minocqua, Wisconsin, part of the Sanford Health system, is seeking a casual CRNA to serve as beeper-call coverage on an established anesthesia team. Call requires a response time of 20 minutes. Occurrence-based malpractice insurance covering services provided to MCHS is included, and the position is a W2 employee role paid at an hourly rate of $200.

The provider would deliver sedation and anesthesia for operative and other procedures, with the primary work site set at the time of hire from among Marshfield Clinic locations or affiliated facilities. Coverage at other centers may occasionally be requested, and such assignments involve clinical situations similar to those at the primary site. The role is listed as 40 scheduled hours per week, with varying shifts.

Responsibilities include giving anesthesia or sedation for a range of surgical and non-surgical cases, building and documenting pre-anesthetic plans with pre-, intra- and post-procedure orders, and coordinating with the other clinicians caring for each patient. The CRNA also speaks with patients, families and other team members, orders diagnostic testing when needed, and monitors patients, including hemodynamics, adjusting care to the anesthesia plan. The position calls for the ability to meet the developmental needs of patients across all age groups.

Applicants need a bachelor's degree from an accredited advanced-practice nursing program. A master's degree, DNP or PhD is preferred. A current, unrestricted state nursing license authorizing CRNA practice is required, and multi-state privileges may be needed depending on the role. Certification from the NBCRNA must be obtained and maintained, along with department-specific competencies. ACLS certification is preferred. Privileging and credentialing documents take precedence over the general job description where they differ.
