Full details
This Network Director role at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh is a full-time position for an experienced CRNA who acts as both a clinical leader and a direct provider of patient care. The director delivers full-scope anesthesia services within the scope of practice, supports the Chair and Vice President in anesthesia operations, and leads recruiting, retention and education for the Network's CRNAs, techs and aides.
Clinical duties cover pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative care, with a focus on patient safety and quality outcomes. Roughly half of the role's time is split between recruiting and retention work with operational leaders, Talent Acquisition and local CRNA schools, and direct clinical practice. The remaining share goes to supporting hospital Chief CRNAs through management and mentorship, building CRNA education and training programs, and developing staff orientation for new hires.
The director also builds ties with nursing schools and nurse anesthesia programs in the region to attract student nurse anesthetists and provide them a valuable clinical experience. Other responsibilities include evaluating clinical staff performance, recommending corrective action, and helping site Chief CRNAs resolve conflicts.
Required qualifications include a minimum of a master's degree, certification as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist from the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists, and a current Pennsylvania RN license. The role calls for at least five years of prior experience as a Chief CRNA, while a DNP is preferred and 10 to 15 years as a Chief CRNA is noted as a preference.
Additional requirements include ACLS, CPR through the American Heart Association, PALS, and several Pennsylvania clearances, namely Act 34 criminal background, Act 33 child abuse, Act 73 FBI fingerprinting.
