The role also covers thorough, legible charting of anesthesia records, pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, and controlled-substance counts, along with giving patient handoffs to PACU nurses, keeping the operating room and anesthesia areas clean and safe, and alerting anesthesia technicians to equipment problems or supply needs.

The position is covered by the NYSNA bargaining unit and carries a listed hourly rate of $131.28, which may vary with shift differential, experience, education, or other factors.

Benefits described include union coverage, pay differentials for years of RN and CRNA experience and for graduate degrees, paid vacation, sick days, and holidays, medical, dental, and vision insurance, maternity and paternity leave, a hospital-sponsored NYSNA pension at no cost to the CRNA, an optional 403(b), flexible spending accounts, life and disability insurance, and 100% tuition reimbursement.
