Full details

The CRNA provides anesthesia care within the scope of their education, licensure, certification, and experience, working collaboratively under the direction of a supervising anesthesiologist. The role is expected to support a team-based approach that reflects the organization's core values of compassion, collaboration, excellence, and integrity.

The practice is described as collegial and relaxed, operating under a care team model, with colleagues including experienced physicians, CRNAs, and clinical staff. The caseload is broad, spanning general surgery, neurosurgery and spine, vascular, robotic, ENT, GI, OB/GYN, ophthalmology, urology, orthopedics, and NORA procedures, and excludes trauma and cardiac cases.

Core duties include completing thorough pre-anesthetic assessments and building individualized anesthesia plans. The CRNA administers and manages anesthetics, medications, fluids, blood products, and patient monitoring across the perioperative period, and oversees induction, maintenance, emergence, and handoff to post-anesthesia care. Ongoing communication with anesthesiologists and the wider team is expected so that changes in patient status are flagged and care plans are adjusted.

Qualifications include graduation from an AANA-accredited nurse anesthesia program, a master's degree in nursing or anesthesiology, and at least two years of experience as a CRNA. An active Oregon CRNA license in good standing is required, along with American Heart Association ACLS certification due upon hire and active membership in good standing on the hospital's medical staff with associated privileges. Bilingual ability is viewed favorably.

Benefits include a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance, generous annual education leave and allowance, and a 403(b) plan with employer matching. Medical, dental, and vision options are available for employees and dependents, along with a wellness program, an employer-paid employee assistance program, employer-paid basic life and disability coverage, and eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness. Parking is free and plentiful, and the hospital sits one block from a MAX light rail station.

The position is based at Hillsboro Medical Center in Hillsboro, Oregon, a fast-growing, diverse part of Washington County within the Portland metro area. The city is home to Nike's world headquarters and a significant tech sector anchored by Intel, and it ranks highly for livability, housing, commuting, employment, and safety. Portland is about 21 miles away, and the Oregon Coast, Columbia River Gorge, and Mount Hood are within easy reach for outdoor recreation.
