Full details

The schedule is 24-hour shifts. Piedmont's Columbus, Georgia team is looking for a CRNA with a serious interest in obstetric anesthesia to work in a collaborative setting where patient acuity is high. The position suits a clinician who finds the physiology of obstetrics engaging, wants independence in clinical decisions, and hopes to build or deepen expertise across the whole range of obstetric anesthesia care.

The practice describes itself as a close-knit group of 9 physicians and 41 CRNAs, serving the Midtown and Northside campuses of Piedmont Columbus Regional. Many colleagues have been with the health system for years, and the role places you alongside a committed anesthesia staff.

Responsibilities include full-scope practice as an obstetric specialist. Duties cover labor analgesia, including epidurals placed during labor and combined spinal-epidural approaches, spinal and combined techniques for cesarean sections, converting labor epidurals when an operative delivery becomes necessary, and general anesthesia in situations where a neuraxial approach cannot be used or does not provide adequate relief.

Candidates need NBCRNA board certification and authorization to work in the United States. A solid background in regional, neuraxial, and general anesthesia is expected, along with a commitment to evidence-based obstetric practice, the ability to respond calmly to quickly evolving situations, clear communication with obstetricians, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, nurses, neonatal teams, and other perioperative staff, and a patient-centered approach to labor pain management that includes shared decision-making.

Over the year the schedule provides 13 weeks of scheduled time off.

Columbus sits on the Georgia-Alabama border and is Georgia's second-largest city after Atlanta. It offers a big-city range of amenities alongside a small-town atmosphere, and housing in the city and nearby areas is comparatively affordable. Residents enjoy an extensive network of running trails and the Uptown district, which has many restaurants and outdoor parks.

Compensation includes an annual salary listed at $245,000 to $275,000, a $75,000 commencement bonus, and 13 weeks of scheduled time off. Both W2 and 1099 arrangements are available, and relocation assistance is offered.
