A health system is seeking a per diem Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join its team at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital in central Pennsylvania. The hospital has 123 beds, six operating rooms, three endoscopy suites, and one obstetrics suite. Its caseload is roughly 35% general surgery, 25% gastroenterology, 25% orthopedics and podiatry, and 15% gynecology and obstetrics.

Scheduling is flexible, and the number of shifts each month can vary. As few as one or two shifts a month is acceptable, and additional shifts are welcome, including a full week in a given month. The cases are routine and exclude cardiac and trauma work. Student nurse anesthetists are also welcome to apply.

Lewistown is a small-town community under an hour from Harrisburg and about half an hour from State College, home of Penn State University. An Amtrak station in town offers connections to Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and Boston, and airports are available in State College and Harrisburg. The position is a day shift, and the hospital reports that it does not qualify for a J-1 waiver.

The role requires a master's degree in nursing and a license plus certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
