Full details

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists for Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, a short drive from downtown Cleveland. Hillcrest is a busy tertiary care facility and Level 2 Trauma Center with a wide range of cases and a high-risk obstetrics department.

Anesthesia providers here work as a team alongside CRNAs, CAAs and MDAs, sharing responsibilities and valuing one another's input. CRNAs may take part in committees and process improvement projects. Scheduling is flexible and can accommodate individual preferences where they fit the organization's needs, and the posting describes the usual weekly patterns as a mix of longer and shorter shifts. Occasional weekend call is performed from home on a periodic basis.

The benefits package includes competitive pay with supplemental pay, sign-on bonuses for eligible new graduates and experienced providers, and student loan repayment. Paid time off and paid holidays are provided, along with CEU funding and internal education, professional reimbursements, medical, dental and vision coverage starting on day one, employer-paid life insurance, and disability coverage for full-time staff. Parental leave, relocation help, paid interview expenses, a retirement savings plan with employer contributions, and malpractice coverage at no cost to the CRNA are also offered. The employer is eligible for Public Student Loan Forgiveness, and research and teaching roles are available but optional.

The role involves providing anesthesia care for diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical procedures. Responsibilities include completing pre-anesthetic assessments, developing and carrying out anesthetic plans with appropriate monitoring, and managing induction, maintenance and emergence. The CRNA also recognizes changes in the patient's physiologic response, takes action, and notifies the responsible physician as needed, along with other assigned duties.

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited CRNA program and hold a current RN license and CRNA licensure from the Ohio Board of Nursing. Current NBCRNA certification with continued professional certification is required, along with State Board of Nursing endorsement. BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association are required, while PALS and NRP may be needed depending on the work setting. The position calls for sound judgment, critical thinking, the ability to work with limited supervision, and composure in high-pressure settings. No prior work experience is listed as required.

Physical demands include full range of motion, manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, extended periods of standing and walking, and the ability to lift and move patients. Corrected hearing and vision must be within normal range, and some exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids is expected, with standard precautions and protective equipment used as required. The employer runs a drug-free workplace program with controlled-substance testing after offers, and requires an annual influenza vaccination or an approved exemption.
