Full details
University Hospitals is recruiting Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists for a close-knit, community-based anesthesia team. Providers would work in a setting that values their skills, lets them know their colleagues well, and connects their work directly to the local community, while drawing on the resources and stability of the wider UH system. The practice covers a broad range of cases.
Anesthetists are integral members of the Anesthesia Care Team and collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses, trainees, and other clinicians to deliver safe, efficient, patient-centered perioperative care. Responsibilities include interviewing patients and reviewing key data to confirm readiness for anesthesia, explaining the anesthetic plan and its risks to patients and families, and placing access lines and starting preoperative therapies. Providers also prepare equipment and medications, assist through induction, maintenance, and emergence, and safely hand patients off to post-operative nursing staff. Airway management, including intubation, is part of the role, both in the operating setting and as a member of the resuscitation team across the institution.
The primary assignment is at UH Geauga Medical Center, with travel to other east-side community hospitals as needed. On-call duty totals 36 to 48 hours per month. Additional duties may be assigned, and staff must follow department policies and standards, with specifics provided during orientation. Protected health information must be handled securely, and annual training and the UH Code of Conduct govern its use.
Compensation and benefits include competitive pay, a sign-on bonus of up to $30,000, enhanced paid time off for those with 5 or more years of experience, comprehensive benefits including retirement plans, professional and CME support, career ladder progression, and flexible scheduling. New graduates may also qualify for a student loan repayment program of up to $15,000.
