Full details

University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center's Department of Anesthesiology is recruiting Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists to join a close-knit, community-based anesthesia team. The setting offers a personal working environment within a community hospital, backed by the resources and stability of the UH system, with a broad case mix. Candidates at any career stage are welcome, from experienced anesthesia professionals to new graduates, with room to shape a practice around their interests, experience and goals.

Anesthetists in this role work as integral members of the Anesthesia Care Team alongside anesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses, trainees and other clinicians to deliver safe, efficient, patient-centered perioperative care. Responsibilities include interviewing patients and reviewing key data to confirm readiness for anesthesia, explaining the anesthetic plan and its risks to patients and families, placing access lines and starting preoperative therapies, and preparing equipment and medications. The role also covers assisting with induction, maintenance and emergence, transporting patients safely to the post-operative area with a clean handoff to nursing, and establishing and securing airways, including intubation, as part of the resuscitation team across the institution.

The primary assignment is at UH Geauga Medical Center, with travel to other east-side community hospitals as needed. On-call duty is 36-48 hours per month. Staff are expected to perform other assigned duties, follow department policies and standards, and review role-specific documentation provided during orientation, and to protect patient health information in line with UH training, Code of Conduct and policies.

Benefits and incentives listed for the team include competitive pay, a sign-on bonus up to $30,000, enhanced paid time off for those with 5+ years of experience, comprehensive benefits including retirement plans, professional and CME support, career ladder progression, flexible scheduling, and a student loan repayment program up to $15,000 for new graduates only.
