Full details
Cleveland Clinic is recruiting certified registered nurse anesthetists for its Division of Multi-Specialty Anesthesiology at the Main Campus in Cleveland, ahead of a major neuroscience center slated to open in early 2027. That building will be the largest on the campus and is intended to expand what is possible in neurological care. The role centers on complex neurological procedures while also covering anesthesia for a broad range of surgical specialties.
The practice describes a collegial setting where CRNAs and anesthesiologists work side by side, with support for both experienced and newly graduated providers. Caseloads are varied and designed to be engaging, and several scheduling options are available. Weekend and holiday duty is described as infrequent. The day schedule is listed as a day shift, and call is in-house only a few times a year as part of regular hours, with extra shifts available for added income.
Compensation includes a competitive base and supplemental pay, sign-on bonuses for eligible new graduates and experienced providers, and student loan repayment assistance. Other benefits cover paid time off, six paid holidays, a continuing education package with internal opportunities, professional reimbursements, and medical, dental and vision coverage starting on the first day. Employer-paid life insurance, disability coverage for full-time staff, paid parental leave, relocation help, paid interview expenses, and a retirement savings plan with Cleveland Clinic contributions are also included, and malpractice coverage is provided at no cost. Research and teaching roles are optional. The employer is also eligible for Public Student Loan Forgiveness.
Duties include performing and documenting a pre-anesthetic patient evaluation, building and carrying out an anesthetic plan with monitoring and post-anesthesia follow-up, and delivering induction, maintenance and emergence care. The role also involves recognizing changes in the patient's physiologic response, acting on them, and alerting the responsible physician, along with other assigned duties.
Candidates need a graduate degree from an accredited CRNA program, a current Ohio registered nurse license and CRNA licensure, and current national certification with recertification through the NBCRNA, plus state board endorsement. BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association are required, while PALS and NRP may be needed depending on the work setting. The position calls for sound judgment, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and composure in high-pressure settings. Physical demands include extended standing and walking, lifting and moving patients, and some exposure to bodily fluids.
The organization follows a drug-free workplace policy with controlled substance testing after offers, and it requires annual influenza vaccination or an approved exemption. Hiring decisions are made without regard to protected characteristics.
