Full details

This per diem opening at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia, is for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join an expanding Anesthesia Care Team. The CRNA works under the medical direction of an anesthesiologist and provides intravenous, inhalation, and other anesthetics for surgical, obstetrical, and medical procedures, with duties that include pre-anesthesia evaluation, equipment setup and testing, and patient monitoring throughout care. Shifts are variable, and the anesthetist may be assigned to any area of the department as needed.

The hospital is a Level II Trauma Center with 19 operating rooms (one hybrid), two dedicated obstetric operating rooms, and four endoscopy procedure rooms. The case mix spans general, urology, orthopedic, vascular, thoracic, neurologic, plastic, ENT, and endoscopic surgery, and the anesthetist cares for neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

Core responsibilities include developing anesthesia care plans with the healthcare team, responding to changes in a patient's condition, keeping timely and accurate documentation, and following hospital policies and regulatory standards. The role also supports departmental quality, safety, and patient satisfaction efforts.

Applicants need a bachelor's degree in nursing and a higher degree in anesthesia, along with current ACLS, BLS, and CRNA certification. One year or more of anesthesia experience is preferred, though new graduates and students in accredited programs will be considered.
