Full details
The certified registered nurse anesthetist in this part-time Michigan role will deliver safe, high-quality anesthesia care to patients having surgical and procedural interventions in ambulatory surgery center settings. The CRNA works within a collaborative model alongside anesthesiologists, surgeons, nursing staff, and ASC leadership, with the aim of providing efficient, patient-centered care that meets clinical standards and operational expectations.
Day-to-day duties include completing pre-anesthetic evaluations with history review, physical examination, and risk assessment; building individualized anesthesia plans suited to ambulatory patients; and providing general, regional, monitored anesthesia care, and sedation as clinically appropriate. The role also covers airway, hemodynamic, fluid, and depth management across the perioperative period, post-anesthesia care including pain control, emergence, and discharge readiness, and responding to perioperative emergencies with ACLS-based measures. CRNAs work independently with surgeons where state law permits.
Communication with surgeons, PACU staff, pre-admission testing teams, and ASC leadership is central, as is taking part in case flow, scheduling, and turnover improvement. Anesthesia records, including intraoperative and post-anesthesia notes, are kept in the designated electronic health record, such as SIS Epic or Cerner. The position also involves peer review, quality assurance, and safety initiatives, and supporting consistent anesthesia practice across the supported facilities.
Candidates need to be graduates of an accredited nurse anesthesia program, hold current CRNA certification from the NBCRNA, and have active, unrestricted RN and APRN licenses in the practice state. Current ACLS and BLS are required, with PALS as the facility demands, and applicants must be eligible for credentialing and privileging at ambulatory surgery centers. Prior ASC or outpatient experience, regional anesthesia and ultrasound skill, and familiarity with SIS Epic or Cerner are preferred.
The job calls for standing for long stretches, handling manual tasks tied to anesthesia delivery, responding quickly in emergencies, and adjusting the schedule to case volume and operational needs. Pay is an annual W-2 salary. Benefits listed include paid time off, medical, dental, and vision coverage, malpractice coverage, a 401(k) with profit sharing, life insurance, and long-term disability.
The posted schedule is Monday through Friday with no call, nights, or weekends, in a practice limited to ambulatory surgery centers. The employer describes a clinician-led environment that emphasizes work-life balance, professional growth and leadership opportunities, and competitive compensation.
